The Iceberg Effect-Day One of 2010 DOTUSA TeachUp! Training

When you are trying to get to know someone, there are things that you can tell right off about that person (Above the waterline), but there are also some things that you cannot (Below the waterline). In short, this is called the "Iceberg Effect."

Role of a DOT USA TeachUp! Intern

4 Roles of the TeachUp! Intern

1) Teacher Enablement-our role is to enable the teachers in the use of technology.

2) Knowledge Sharing-help the teacher; writing success stories/ school updates electronically. (Note the quotes of teachers)

3) Manage Projects-guiding teachers in a direction they want to go.

4) Advocacy-advocating/ talking about DOT in terms of technology.

Techie Tips

1)Always back up your hard drive and create restore points for your computer.

2)Always create restore discs immediately after purchasing your desktop or laptop/notebook computer.

3)Always ensure that you have up-to-date and active anti-virus, spyware, malware, etc. protection.
